Crochet Patchwork Effect

By How to crochet

This is a basic crochet patchwork design in 2 colours in single crochet (sc) and carrying the colour not in use in the work. I used a multiple of 5 + 1 stitches for my sample.

This is completely reversible

crochet patchwork

and has no ugly loops on the wrong side. Here is how it would look like if you will not carrying the colour in the your crochet work.

ugly loops on the wrong side

Make 16 ch with colour A & work 1 sc into the 3rd ch from the hook, 1sc into each of next 2ch.* Change colour by inserting the hook into the next st and yarn over hook with the new colour B & draw through all loops on hook. Work 1sc into the next 5ch (keeping the colour not in use at the back of your work) and working over this thread. Change colour as before *and work 1 sc into the next 5 chain 1 ch, turn.

Work 4 more rows using this colour sequence before changing the colours around to form the checked squares. The new colour is always joined into the stitch preceding the stitches to be worked in the new colour.

Interesting Things

Well, I'm looking for more interesting crochet things to put here. I have so many crochet patterns and some other items already made. I'm just trying to organize most of them... organize and modernise them too.
