How to begin any crochet project
By
All crochet projects are starting with slipknot. It is very important to learn the right way to start crocheting. In this video I show the way I was taught many years ago and it works for me. I can spend hours crocheting without my hands being tired.
Well, a lot of people have different ways to hold their crochet hooks and yarns. You will find your own way to crochet, it’s what you would be comfortable with. This video is more a guideline rather a “must”.

I think your video for the crochet chevron stitch is very helpful and easy to follow. My problem is how do you start row 1? I follwed your video over and over and it is visually very clear, but I can’t get the stitches to line up correctly. Somehow my “peaks and decreases” don’t line up. After I complete my chains, is the first row, which is not shown, done slightly different? thank you for your response. Again, your video is excellent and your stitches are beautiful.
